Thousands of people have passed through the doors of Antioch, with their lives immeasurably changed by the power of the Holy Ghost. As you look at the people around you, you will see a diverse group. Our membership is made up of men and women, young and old, from every race and walk of life. Over the years, the church has grown tremendously, moving from its humble beginnings in rented storefronts, warehouses and many other places before finally settling at our present location. Antioch has reached into every aspect of the community with ministries to the incarcerated, to those trapped in a life of alcohol and drug addiction, to the youth, to the elderly, to the disabled, to the poor and needy, and to every community in Anne Arundel County through Home Fellowship Groups, and outreach ministries. We have a thriving Sunday school that offers classes for children ages 2 through 16.
Antioch Christian School provides a quality Christian based education to area students from Kindergarten through the twelfth grade.
Many ministers have gone out from Antioch to start new churches and to evangelize around the world. Antioch has participated directly in missionary works in Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malawi, England, Zambia, Zaire, and Brazil; and indirectly in hundreds of other countries through financial and prayer support.
WHY WE...
...praise God out loud... Let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name" (Heb 13:15)
...raise our hands in praise "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord" (Psalms 134:2)
...sing and rejoice "hout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises"(Psalms 98:4)
...clap our hands in praise "Oh, clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!" (Psalms 47:1)
...dance before the Lord "Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise His name with the dance" (Psalms 149:2-3)
...pray for needs by the laying on of hands "they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark 16:18)
...speak in tongues "And these signs shall follow them that believe...they shall speak with new tongues;" (Mark 16:17)
...why we baptize in Jesus name "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38) |
